Was founded by Robben Island Prisoner 11/80 in memory of his Comrades and co-accused: Ronnie Mamoepa; Andrew Phala; Peter Senabe and Vincent Maluleka.
When South Africa became a democratic state in 1994, the new government decided that the history of the country should be proudly celebrated by all South Africans.
